Health bosses are expecting to see a rise in Covid cases at schools across Lincolnshire.
Many are re-opening today after the summer holidays.
Director of Public Health Derek Ward says the risk of children not being in education far outweighs the risk of them potentially catching coronavirus.
"As as a public health team we are supporting our head teachers and our schools.
"We know that in that age band, if children and young people do catch covid, they tend to get a very mild disease.
"Often they don't even know that they've got the disease.
"So it's important that they go back to schools and if they're eligible for a vaccine I plead with them to get their dose."
