Police investigating unexplained death of woman in Lincoln

Her body was found yesterday evening. A man has been arrested.

Police are investigating the death of a woman in Lincoln which they're treating as 'unexplained'.

She was found at a house on Claremont Street at around 7:20pm yesterday evening. It's believed she was in her 40s.

Police and forensics teams remain on the scene today as part of the investigation.

A 59 year old man has been arrested and is being questioned in connection with the death.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wright-Lakin, from Lincolnshire Police, said: “We are saddened to confirm that we were called to an unexplained death of a woman, and are currently investigating the case."

"We believe this to be an isolated incident. We are keen to hear from anyone in the area who may have seen or heard anything between Saturday evening and Monday evening. "

"Any information, no matter how small, may be able to assist us with our investigation.”
