The Skegness Pier has a new owner
Mellors Group have bought the Skegness Pier
The Mellors Group, who also own Fantasy Island, have confirmed they have purchased the Skegness Pier.
The Pier was put up for sale a few months ago.
The owners at the time said it made sense to "pass the reigns over to someone new".
"To make the area as popular as we can, for more and more people to come to the East Coast."
James Mellor is one of the directors at Mellors Group, he said:
"One of the things we have spoken about and wouldn't rule out, is looking at extending the pier a little bit further again.
"As everyone local to Skegness will know, it's much shorter now than it used to be, due to a storm many years ago.
"The Pier is a magnet to Skegness, we want to try and work with local businesses, with the local council to make the area as popular as we can, for more and more people to come to the East Coast."
