#MyFertilityMatters: Lincolnshire health bosses to review NHS IVF rules
It's after we revealed hundreds of women are being refused support just because they're a stepmum

We’ve taken a positive step-forward with our My Fertility Matters campaign as health bosses in Lincolnshire agree to review IVF rules.
It’s after we highlighted hundreds of women are being turned down treatment on the NHS because they’re already a stepmum.
We’ve been working with Sarah Barker from Lincoln who was told she didn't qualify because her partner had a daughter from a previous relationship.
Yesterday her MP met with health bosses at the CCG, who are now calling for a review of the East Midlands Policy.
"I think it is a positive step"
Dr Caroline Johnson says it's been almost 10 years since the policy was last reviewed.
“It’s actually an East Midlands policy rather than a Lincolnshire policy specifically, but the CCG has undertaken to go away and look with the whole East Midlands at whether this policy is right, and review it.
“If the review doesn’t recommend a change, they will look more carefully at the Lincolnshire situation.
“So I think that’s good they’re going to review the general policy and I’ll be meeting with them in a couple of months’ time to see how that is progressing."
She has faith in the decision they'll make.
"The CCG are a good CCG, they care very passionately about their patients.
"They want to ensure they’re delivering the best possible care, there clearly is an anomaly there and I think that is understood."
