The East Yorkshire man who organised the flight on which footballer Emiliano Sala died is due to go on trial today.

David Henderson from Hotham is charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft.

North Lincolnshire pilot David Ibbotson also died in the crash.

The Argentinian striker died alongside the 59 year old pilot from Crowle when the plane came down across the English channel just North of Guernsey in 2019.

He'd been travelling to the UK as part of a multi million pound transfer to Cardiff City.

66 year old Henderson is accused of acting in a reckless manner likely to endanger the plane and causing it to discharge somebody.

He denies the charges.

He'll appear before Cardiff Crown Court later
