Man jailed for 5 years for causing death of woman in Lincolnshire by dangerous driving

A man's been jailed for five years for causing the death of a woman by dangerous driving near Lincoln.

A passenger in the car also suffered life changing injuries.

62-year-old Victor Grimmer, from Main Street Huthwaite in Nottinghamshire was driving his car towards Lincoln at Rand back in 2020.

He crossed over into the eastbound carriageway on the A158 and hit a car travelling towards Skegness.

The driver 32-year-old Tara Green died at the scene.

At Lincoln Crown Court a jury found Grimmer guilty of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Today (Thursday, 27th April) he was sentenced to five years in prison for causing the death of Tara Green by dangerous driving, and a three year sentence for causing serious injury, to run concurrently.

He was also banned from driving for seven and half years, and ordered to take an extended retest.
