A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected gas explosion in Gainsborough on Friday.

Police were called to a house on Waterworks Street at around 4:45pm.

Nobody was hurt in the blast and no neighbouring houses were affected.

Officers say enquiries are ongoing.

The 35 year old is now being questioned on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Its thought the cause of the blast was a gas cannister.
