Local consortium withdraws offer to buy Scunthorpe United
They've withdrawn from negotiations
A local consortium hoping to buy Scunthorpe United have pulled out.
The group headed headed up by Simon Elliott and Ian Sharp are said to withdrawn from negotiations.
They haven't given details of why but a social media post says they'll be waiting in the wings if anything changes.
It's after current owner Peter Swann decided to sell.
Last week the club was served with a winding up petition.
Scunthorpe United are currently bottom of the National League having lost their football league status at the end of last season.
