The Lincolnshire Farming Conference has been cancelled for the second year in a row due to Covid.

The event was due to take place in 2 weeks time at the county's showground.

Organisers say they made the decision on safety grounds in the light of concerns about the omicron coronavirus variant.

The Lincolnshire Farming Conference was set to make its return on Thursday 10 February 2022 at the Lincolnshire Showground.

Kelly Hewson-Fisher, chair of the Lincolnshire Farming Conference said:

“We are sad to announce the cancellation of the 2022 event however, the safety of our community is extremely important to us, and we have to prioritise that by taking the right action.

“The conference is a key fixture for Lincolnshire’s agricultural community, with this decision to cancel being intended to keep them safe and allow us to deliver a first-rate event with greater certainty in the future.

“We look forward to welcoming the Lincolnshire Farming Conference back fully on 9 February 2023, when key industry speakers will focus on the theme of ‘Healthy Soils, Healthy Minds’.”

The Lincolnshire Showground has confirmed that anyone who had already booked a place to attend the Lincolnshire Farming Conference on Thursday 10 February 2022 will be issued with a full refund via Eventbrite.

An array of leading national and regional speakers were due to speak at the conference, to discuss the confirmed theme of 2022: healthy soil, healthy minds.
