It's been revealed there's a backlog of 400,000 driving tests waiting to be taken due to lockdown restrictions nationally.

From Monday learners could start private lessons again.

We spoke to Graham Kent from Anderby Driving Centre about the situation.

He's optimistic the DVSA, the organisation which organises tests, will be able to catch up.

A number of measures are being put in place.

These include having a longer working day to take tests in.

Also some tests will be taken at weekends and Bank Holidays.

Mr Kent also advises learners to ensure they're ready for a test as time off lessons can mean they're a little rusty.

However he believes it shouldn't take too long to get back into the habit.

Finally he says it's important to test their theory test expiry dates.
