Lincoln 'white supremacist' convicted of terrorism offence
He was found to have a manual on how to make explosives
A Lincoln man, described as a white supremacist and neo-Nazi, has been convicted of a terrorism offence.
21 year old Ben John, of Addison Drive, was found guilty at Leicester Crown Court today after being found to have a manual on how to make various kinds of explosives in his possession.
John first came to the attention of the government's Prevent programme in 2018 after penning a letter entitled ‘Eternal Front – Lincolnshire Fascist Underground’.
He was arrested in January 2020 as part of an operation by counter terrorism officers. He was charged in November following an 11 month investigation.
Officers found John had in his possession a wealth of anti-Semitic and white supremacist literature, as well as material related to Satanist organisation the Order of Nine Angles.
A jury at Leicester Crown Court found him guilty of having a manual called 'Anarchy Cookbook Version 2000' on his hard drive. It contained instructions on how to construct various potentially deadly weapons.
John has been remanded into custody and will be sentenced at the end of the month. He was cleared of six other counts of having in his possession information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
