Lincoln man arrested on suspicion of rape
He was arrested by police this morning.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested this morning on suspicion of rape.
It follows a report about an alleged incident in the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday 30 September) at a property in Campus Way, Lincoln.
Lincolnshire Police say officers and staff from several departments worked throughout the day and night to locate the suspect, who is from the Sleaford area.
He was arrested at 8.15am this morning and remains in police custody.
Superintendent Phil Baker said: “This has been a fast-paced investigation involving several different lines of enquiry, and we now have a suspect in custody.
“Our officers have been engaging with people in the area and will continue to do so.
“We take reports of rape and sexual assault extremely seriously, and I’d encourage those who’ve been victims of those crimes to come forward and make contact.”
