Increased police presence after death near Horncastle

Detectives are continuing to question a man in connection with the death of a woman in her 70's in West Ashby, near Horncastle.

Emergency services were called to Kirk Close around lunchtime on Thursday (03/08) to reports of an altercation.

We're told the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and was found with what police believe to be knife wounds.

There's going to be an increased police presence in the area today, whilst officers continue searching the scene.

Lincolnshire Police say they're in the early stages of their investigation and a "working diligently" to understand what happened.

A man in his 50's continues to be questioned on suspicion of murder.
