Fishermen's reunion takes place in Grimsby
Around 150 are expected to attend
A re-union for around 150 ex fishermen’s happening in Grimsby today.
It’s a chance for those who risked their lives at sea to come together, share stories and have a catch up.
It'll be taking place at the Fishing Heritage Centre in the town.
We spoke to Suesan Brown Superintendent of the Fishermen’s Mission about the event.
She told us: "The fishermen's reunion has always been one of those events where they have got together and even those who are essentially housebound will go through all the hassle that it is for them to get out of the house in order for them to come to this one event."
"The fishermen's reunion itself is unbelievably important to so many of our fishermen and the fact we can have it in conjunction with the heritage centre is so vital when it comes to those connections within the community."
We also spoke to David Ornsby from the Fishing Heritage centre.
He said: "After the museum has closed they'll be welcome to have a look all around the centre, there are three new exhibitions which have just opened."
"We've had three businesses particularly that have really gone out to support us and of course it's extra special this time because of Covid 19 and the fact it's been a while since we've been able to do this."
