Concerns over the number of domestic abuse arrests in the Scunthorpe area
It's said to be a "hotspot" region
Concerns have been raised about the amount of violence and abuse against women and girls in the Scunthorpe because of the number of related arrests.
It comes as the UK Home Office announced a pilot Emergency fund for survivors, that will be offered primarily by Women's aid.
We spoke to Catherine from the North Lincolnshire branch who told us:
Some women locally have even been murdered
"There does seem to be an increase in issues and some of that is related to social media and some of that is about how relationships are portrayed on screen."
"There's a real worry about what is happening with young people and how young people perceive how a good relationship should be."
"We have services who are overwhelmed with women who need support and help."
"We have a situation where locally we've had women murdered - that's shocking."
"These are women who've been murdered in their own homes."
"Whilst we have a problem we also have people who want to tackle it."
We also talked to the Home group in the region about the issue.
One in 7 women experience domestic violence
They told us: "Something is seriously wrong in our society where we do have to look over our shoulders all of the time to ensure we are safe and be on alert all of the time."
"Societies shouldn't be like that."
"Communities should be safe enough for women to do as they please."
"One in seven women are victims of domestic violence and nine out of ten go unreported."
"We only see the statistics that are reported and the scale of the issue is far bigger."
