Community cash goes to projects in South Kesteven

It includes money for improvements to a skatepark and cash towards a new nature trail.

In Colsterworth almost £3,000 will go towards a nature trail on the old railway line.

Thousands of pounds has been given to community projects in South Kesteven in the latest round of grant funding from the council.

Ten local projects will split £30,000 after successful applications to the Community Fund run by South Kesteven District Council.

It includes:

Deepings Lions - get £1,000 to buy two outdoor benches for a new garden at the Deepings Community Centre, where charity Sense is helping those living with complex disabilities or who are deaf or blind.

Greatford Village Hall - is getting £5,000 towards towards the second stage of its refurbishment project, which includes new windows and doors and work in the main hall.

Colsterworth - a £2,720 grant will go towards work on a new nature trail on an old railway line.

Carlby Playing Field - £5,000 for a new climbing frame and slide on the children's play area.

Dimension Skatepark in Bourne - £5,000 for a major project to create a concrete multi-wheeled sports facility within the Abbey Lawn.

Market Deeping - a £3,267 grant for the Our Forest Garden project, to buy and install a poly-tunnel, timber for planting beds, gardening tools and equipment.

Sedgebrook - the children's play area is to receive almost £3,000 towards improvements.

West Deeping- £2,000 towards the refurbishment of St Andrews Church and the purchase of new tables and chairs.

Folkingham - Aveland History Group has secured £2,000 for a new educational heritage festival

Grantham Arts - The group gets almost £1,200 to pay for supplies for its Wholeness and Wellbeing workshops.
