32 per cent rise in unpaid carers asking for help in Lincolnshire
Around 79 thousand in the county look after relatives or friends
The number of unpaid carers across Lincolnshire asking for help has increased by almost a third .
There are least 79-thousand people in the county who look after family members or friends .
Charity 'Carers First' believes Covid is to blame as many support groups had to close.
Operations Manager Malcolm Ryan says they had to move to digital methods.
"That included extra bits of kit to carers that will help them to keep in contact with others and our service".
"We've also trained up a number of "digital volunteers" who will support carers to use their pieces of kit."
"It's all been good stuff in relation to that blended approach of engaging with those that need face to face contact and those that want a more hands off approach but engaging process through digital means - we've been developing those services"
