Tewkesbury Borough Council offices are temporarily closed to the public this afternoon after a grenade was handed in by a member of the public who had discovered it while metal detecting.

Police are in attendance after we were called at around 2.10pm today (Tuesday 26 November) and a safety cordon is in place.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is in attendance to ensure the device is safe and will be carrying out a controlled explosion if necessary.
