Bird Flu outbreak confirmed in East Yorkshire
Poultry at the site near Beverley will be culled and restriction zones are in place

A case of bird flu has been confirmed at a site near Beverley in East Yorkshire.
Officials from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and the Animal & Plant Health Agency have put protections in place to try and stop the disease from spreading.
This involves a culling of all the animals - described as commercial poultry - on the site itself.
There's also a 3km protection zone been established - which puts restrictions on the movement of birds and increases in record keeping requirements within its radius.
A wider 10km surveillance zone means other nearby farms are also placed under greater restrictions than normal.
The official notice from DEFRA states: Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry at a premises near Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, Yorkshire (AIV 2024/07). A 3km protection zone and a 10km surveillance zone have been declared surrounding the premises. All poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.
