Homes evacuated by emergency services near house fire in Cleat Hill

Bedfordshire Police are at the scene of a house fire in Cleat Hill near Bedford.

Some neighbouring houses are in the process of being evacuated and there are road closures in place.

People are being asked to avoid the area while police continue their investigations into the incident.

In a statement, Bedfordshire Police said: "We are currently at the scene of a house fire in Cleat Hill near Bedford.

"Some neighbouring houses are in the process of being evacuated and there are road closures in place, which include the Kimbolton Road/Wentworth Drive junction with Cleat Hill and the junction at Bedford Road and Graze Hill.

"We are asking people to avoid the area and for motorists to find alternative routes."
