Deputy head teacher of primary school jailed for child sexual assault charges

The former deputy head teacher of a primary school has been sentenced to over 13 years for 18 counts of child sex abuse, including two of rape.
Julie Morris, 44, and her husband, David, 52, pleaded guilty to the charges at Liverpool Crown Court at an earlier hearing.
As well as the 18 counts attributed to Julie, David also pleaded guilty to over 30 offences related to the abuse, including possession of indecent images, voyeurism and rape.
Julie, who was the safeguarding lead at St. George's Central Church of England Primary School in Wigan, admitted to filming the abuse and rape of a girl under the age of 13 with her husband.
In addition, the videos shown to the courts of the abuse taking place included audio of Julie giggling as the abuse took place.
At Liverpool Crown Court, Julie was handed a sentence of 13 years and four months with a four year licence period, while David was jailed for 16 years, with four months extended licence added on.
As a result, Julie will not be able to get out of prison until April 2035, while David will be released in December 2037.
Speaking at the sentencing, Honorary Recorder of Liverpool judge Andrew Menary said: "Every now and again you see cases, the circumstances of which are almost beyond belief. This is one of those cases.
"It demonstrates that human depravity really knows no depths."
