A man has died and another has been left seriously injured after a stabbing in Coventry.

Police were called to Newcombe Road just before 2pm (15 March) where they discovered the two victims.

Tragically, a man in his 50s was found dead.

A second man, also in his 50s, was found with potentially life changing facial injuries and was taken to hospital.

A 51-year-old man from Coventry was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning.

A scene is still in place as police carry out forensic examinations and other enquiries.

West Midlands Police said officers will be carrying out additional patrols in the area to reassure and support the local community over the coming days.
