Man charged after attack on 82-year-old in Birmingham

A man has been charged after an 82-year-old man was left seriously injured in Birmingham.

Muntahar Ahmed was arrested in connection with an attack on the elderly man in Soho Road, Handsworth at around 3.30pm on Tuesday (14 January).

The 43-year-old, of no fixed address, has now been charged with wounding. He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (18 January).

The injured man remains in a critical condition in hospital.

West Midlands Police have urged anyone with information, particularly any dashcam or mobile phone footage, to contact them via 101.
