A man from Burnley has pleaded guilty to the murder of Katie Kenyon.

The mother of two's body was found in the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire in April.

Andrew Burfield, 51. of Todmorden Road, changed his plea and admitted killing her on the third day of his trial at Preston Crown Court.

He was re-arraigned on the charge this morning and the jury formally found him guilty.

The trial heard that he killed Miss Kenyon, of Padiham, on 22 April and buried her body in a grave that he dug the day before her death.

Katie's body was discovered by police on 29 April.

Burfield will be sentenced tomorrow morning (Thursday 17 November).
