After The Blast - The Benwell Tragedy

Seven year old Archie York had his whole life ahead of him.

He loved swimming, video games, watching his favourite TV show with his dad, eating out at Five Guys and he absolutely loved helping his mam and being an incredible older brother to little Finley.

On the 16th October 2024 he was fast asleep at home in Violet Close, Benwell when an explosion tore through his home and ripped his family apart forever.

Reporter Micky Welch has spent time with Archie's family and Northumbria Police to tell the story of the night Newcastle will never forget:
