We're teaming up with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation
The Rio Ferdinand Foundation works in the heart of the UK's most disadvantaged communities, supporting young people to tackle the inequalities they face.
Last year KISS Breakfast's Jordan & Perri announced our partnership with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation with the aim of raising awareness and driving change in the way young people are supported in building their futures.
Together with Rio Ferdinand, we launched #notboxed, a campaign featuring a programme of events and opportunities to drive new investment and support from businesses, government, other decision-makers, and people in power.
This follows the result of a survey organised by KISS with 16-24-year olds, which found that there is a significant knowledge gap in how young people can kickstart their careers.
While over three-quarters of young people know or have some idea of what their dream job would be, nearly half are unsure of the process of how to apply or put themselves forward in the field of their choice.
Government figures show that 1 in 9 young people (aged 16-24) in the UK are not in employment, education or training, and with this campaign, we'll shine a light on real stories spreading the word about all the work the Rio Ferdinand Foundation aims to do.

With Creed III opening in theatres across the world on 3rd March, Warner Bros teamed up with KISS and the Rio Ferdinand Foundation ahead of the film's release for their #notboxed campaign, helping to inspire young people and support them in building positive futures moving forward.
Hosted by our very own Ellie Prohan the special ‘Into the Film Industry’ event explored themes of resilience, motivation, marginalisation and more – all covered in the film – as young people heard from Producer and Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan and football legend Rio Ferdinand themselves, as well as people within the film industry to find out more about starting a career within film and TV.
Here's what they had to say:
