Start date confirmed for The Masked Dancer UK
We don't have long to wait!
After Comedian and children's author David Walliams appeared on Lorraine last week to give some major information away about the hugely-anticipated series of The Masked Dancer, bosses have now confirmed the show will hit our screens on Saturday 29th May!
ITV bosses wrote on Instagram: 'Who's excited for the Masked Dancer? 🤩 Starts May 29th on @itv and @wearestv1 🎠#MaskedDancerUK'. (sic)
Following the cancellation of the 2021 series of Britain's Got Talent due to the ongoing pandemic, David revealed he's going to appear on The Masked Singer's spin-off show as a guest judge, alongside Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and new judge, Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse.
Revealing The Masked Dancer will air in Britain's Got Talent's usual May half-term slot, David said: "I did it as a guest judge and it was really, really fun, actually. Such a lovely show. I think it's on at half term when Britain's Got Talent would normally be because we've got no series of Britain's Got Talent this year."

Of course, just like The Masked Singer, we won't actually know which celebrities are taking part in series until they are unmasked upon elimination.
Speaking about the brand new show, host Joel Dommett said: "Well, this is set to be an amazing fun twist…will someone do the twist?! The Masked Dancer is that little bit of silly fun our lives need right now and I’m so excited to be hosting it. I’m looking forward to some incredible costumes, epic performances and accidentally saying Masked Singer at least five times."
Davina McCall then said: "I love playing detective and I love dancing so what could be better?! I’m currently swotting up on all things dance in preparation and I will be watching those celebrity feet like a hawk. They always have such an amazing cast on The Masked Singer so it could literally be anyone hiding and dancing behind those masks and that’s what makes it so exciting."
The Masked Singer will begin on ITV on Saturday 29th May.
