Love Island bosses have paid a touching tribute to 2016 Islander Sophie Gradon, on the first anniversary of her tragic death.

Sophie, who appeared on the show alongside the likes of Zara Holland, Alex Bowen, Nathan Massey and Olivia Buckland, tragically took her own life on 20th June 2018. To pay tribute to the former Islander, bosses shared a stunning photo of Sophie to their Instagram account, writing the caption, 'In loving memory of Sophie Gradon (1985 - 2018), missed but never forgotten'. sic

Although comments on the post have been disabled, a large number of Love Island fans liked the photo, with many of Sophie's former co-stars also paying their respects.

Sharing a number of photos alongside Sophie, Zara Holland wrote on Twitter, 'Your always in my thoughts gorgeous girl, Sophie 💞 I can’t believe it’s been a year since you went to heaven. We all love and miss you so much. RIP baby girl x.' sic

Malin Andersson also wrote, 'RIP to the most beautiful soul and friend Sophie Gradon.. miss you so much. Please all look after each other up there ✨✨✨✨🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽'. sic

An inquest into Sophie's death took place earlier this year, with the results revealing that the 32-year-old took her own life after taking cocaine and alcohol, and that there was no third-party involvement.

Just weeks after Sophie's passing in 2018, her boyfriend Aaron Armstrong was found dead at his home in Blyth.

A police spokesperson confirmed they had found the 25-year-old's body in a statement reading, "At around 12.20pm today we received a report that a 25-year-old man had been found deceased at a property in Blyth.

"There is not believed to be any third party involvement and a report will now be prepared for the coroner."
