Love Island's Kodie reveals TRUTH about 'secret girlfriend'
He's hit back at the girl's claims

With all of the drama surrounding Molly Marsh's sensational return to the Love Island villa, it's safe to say this year's Casa Amor bombshells were slightly overlooked, that was until the shock recoupling early this week!
Upon his arrival into Casa Amor, 20-year-old Kodie Murphy was branded a 'liar' by a woman who was claiming to be his girlfriend back in the UK! As fans will know, Kodie didn't find a connection during Casa Amor and was dumped during the recoupling, and now he's back in the UK he's addressed the shock claims.
In a video uploaded to his socials, he said: "I am out of the villa, it was short and sweet, but honestly one of the most amazing experiences ever. But when I got my phone this morning I seen that there has been a rumour that needs to be addressed.
"I just wanted to lay down a few facts of the situation. I have been single for nearly a year now, My last relationship ended in October. I've not been in any relationship or any exclusivity with anyone since then. A girl who I first met through Instagram, we went on a date in Birmingham and it went ok, and after that date we didn't see each other for six months, not at all."
In the second part of the video, Kodie added: "Back in March time something happened and we were texting again, I went and met her and we had a meal. It was a nice meal but nothing further went from that. I didn't really hear from her for about a months again.
"And then basically I saw her at a festival that I was promoting at and she was at the same thing, and we just got chatting again and I said 'It will be nice to see you for a drink and catch up or whatever'.
"Nothing has ever happened in this thing more than a kiss. It was literally nothing. It takes a lot for me to get into a relationship. And the basically a week later I said to her I have tickets for The Weeknd, which I was going to take my mum to because she's a huge, huge fan, and she then couldn't go, so I said to her why don't we go to The Weeknd, and it was with my management.
"She came along as a plus one, really nice it was cool, drove up there, drove back, we had a nice time, it was The Weeknd so we had fun. From then on I wasn't really feeling it. At this point I didn't know anything about Love Island, I knew it was on the cards but I didn't know I was going in or anything.
"I then had a few trips that were abroad with friends and other influencers and went on them, and I never said that I was in a relationship, I was single. Single as they can be, having fun, I am 20 I was having fun. It would take a lot for me to get into a relationship and be exclusive with someone. People know from my past relationships that when I get into a relationship I am 100% closed off and I will not hide it. I will post them, I will do whatever, I will make sure it's known I don't keep it as a secret.
"It's very much come as a shock to me that this has happened, I didn't think this certain person was like that. When you go into the villa you do gain followers, some people gain millions, some people gain a thousand, it's hit and miss depending on who, and it's very much a crazy thing to think that somebody has done this to gain clout throughout and use my name to do that.
He concluded: "I have no obligations against the girl, it's not something I would do and I can state now that I have not been in a relationship or been exclusive with anyone for at least a year now."
Following Kodie's entrance into Casa Amor during Friday night's (30th June) episode, the girl in question shared a photo of the pair looking cosy at a gig together, admitting she felt 'hurt and disrespected'.
She wrote on Instagram: 'As some of you may know @KodieMurphy and I have been exclusive for some time and now I've come to find out this 'work trip' he was going on was actually Casa Amor.
'Couldn't feel more hurt and disrespected, Kodie you had plenty of time to tell me, however I hope you find what you're looking for.
'I wish you luck'. (sic)

Of course, Kodie isn't the only Islander from this year's show accused of being in a relationship back in the UK.
Since her return, viewers are convinced series two star Kady McDermott is hiding a secret boyfriend, with many fans claiming they've even spotted the two together at the supermarket and gym.
Despite the accusations, ITV have claimed all Islanders are single before entering the villa.
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
