It's been less than 24 hours since Love Island 2018's Sam Bird announced that he and Georgia Steel had split. The ex-couple, who found love in the Love Island villa this summer, have gone their separate ways after Sam confirmed the split in a tweet and Georgia confirmed it on her Instagram Story.

Sam wrote, 'I’m devastated to announce me and Georgia have split up for reasons I cant bring myself to comment on at the moment. As always I wish her all the best 😔,' whilst Georgia penned, 'I'm very sad to say me and Sam have split. I will always care about him. However, please understand this is a hard time for us both, thank you. ❤️' sic

Since Sam posted the announcement last night (17th Oct), having been at the ITV Palooza just hours before WITH Georgia, plenty of fellow Love Islanders have come forward with messages of support for the couple, who were also living together.

HOWEVER. Dr Alex George, who was a rather divisive character on the show and did not find love on the island, has shared a rather SAVAGE post after the news of their break-up.

The 27-year-old posted a meme of himself with the simple caption of a cup of tea emoji. The picture, showing himself drinking a glass of wine in the villa on his own, read, 'Watching all the Love Island couples break up on the outside when you left the villa single.'

Obviously, fans were absolutely loving the post, with many commenting on it to express how hilarious they were finding it. One wrote, 'Dr Alex bringing the banter,' as another added, 'The shade thrown,' and another commented, 'He spilt the tea!' whilst many other simply commented with the crying with laughter emoji.

Since the announcement, rumours have been swirling that Georgia was less than loyal to Sam, with a source telling OK! Online, "He truly believed that Georgia was the one, after their experience on Love Island, leaving the show to be together and moving in their home – he thought him and Georgia would be together for the long run.

"In his eyes they had a good relationship. However, Sam has recently found out Georgia has not been loyal to him."

Many fans then noticed that she'd gone on a late-night drive with her tour manager, Steven West, shortly after posting the split announcement - but Georgia slammed rumours she was involved with him.

Her rep also told Mirror Online, "There is no truth in this whatsoever. Steven West is Georgia’s tour manager who drives her to PA’s and looks after her security wise and it’s in this professional capacity of which he is employed."
