A company named Cutting Edge Music is suing The Weekend and his producers, claiming they have sampled the score from 2013 film ‘The Machine’ without permission.
A large part of the claim centres on a direct twitter message from one of The Weeknd’s producers to Tom Raybould. Raybould wrote the soundtrack for ‘The Machine’. He received a message from Emmanuel ‘Million Dollar Mano’ Nickerson, one of The Weeknd’s producers saying ‘I sampled your music might make it 2 the weeknd next album. Huge fan of what u did 4 the machine movie!’
