After teasing it on her socials, the music video for Katy Perry’s ‘Swish Swish’ has FINALLY landed!
The visuals don’t disappoint as it features a star studded basketball game. Katy is captain of the Tigers who are playing the Sheep, captained by Game of Thrones’ star Hafþór Júlíus "Thor" Björnsson. Katy is the Courtside Killer Queen who’s joined by Backpack Kid, Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz, Gaten Matarazzo best known for his role in ‘Stranger Things’, dancer and actor Dexter Mayfield and comedian Christine Sydelko.
Thing aren’t going well for the tigers before halftime, when there’s a performance from Nicki Minaj who tells Katy ‘to get it together’. A little pep talk from Nicki and Katy is inspired to bring her team to victory.
Katy fans have suspected ‘Swish Swish’ is a diss track at Taylor Swift, and we have to admit her choice of the Tigers vs. Sheep has got thinking of Katy’s 2014 tweet. In September 2014, Katy tweeted ‘watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing’, referencing the Mean Girls character.
