Rihanna will take home the biggest gong at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Rihanna will take home the biggest gong at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Ri-Ri has been awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, for ‘her decade-long impact on music, pop culture, fashion, film and philanthropy’.

Ri-Ri joins Beyonce, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Madonna and Michael Jackson, who have all previously scooped the award. She’ll collect her gong at the ceremony in New York on Sunday 28th August and perform on the night.

Plus Ri-Ri could be collecting Best Female Video and Best Collaboration Video after nominations in those categories. Beyonce and Adele dominated the nominations. Beyonce bagged 11 nominations including Best Female Video and Video of the Year. While Adele’s earnt 8 nods including Best Female Video, Video of the Year and Best Pop Video.
