It's that time of the year, the Christmas songs take over the airwaves and it doesn't matter if they were from 30 years ago or three years ago, we just can't stop singing along! Now, one question that is always on our lips is, just how much do the artists get from their ever-popular Christmas songs, such as Mariah Carey's age-old classic, 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'?

Well, we could have all guessed that Mariah's release will make her a huge amount of money every year, but just how much? According PrezzyBox, Mariah has already earned around £2.5million in royalties this year, not bad for a song that was originally released in 1994, and co-written by Mariah and Walter Afanasief.

When it comes to some of our other Christmas favourites, PrezzyBox have also revealed that this year, Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' has earned around £1.6million, meanwhile, The Pogues' 'Fairytale of New York' has racked up a massive £2.8million!

This year there could be a new Christmas hit to listen out for. LadBaby has teamed up with Money Saving Expert's Martin Lewis this year, for a reworking of the Band Aid hit 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'. 'Food Aid' has had approval from Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, and all profits will go towards the fight against hunger and poverty.
