EXCLUSIVE: Liam Payne reveals why his debut album 'LP1' took so long to make
Liam joined us at the KISS Haunted House Party!
Last updated 11th Nov 2019
The amazing Liam Payne joined us the KISS Haunted House Party on Friday 25th October, dressed as Superman as he performed some of his biggest hits including 'Strip That Down' and 'Stack It Up' at The SSE Arena in Wembley.
Before taking to the stage alongside the massive line-up of Stormzy, Sean Paul, Young T and Bugsey, Anne-Marie, Jax Jones, Aitch and Majestic, the former One Direction star joined KISS presenter Alex backstage for a chat, where he revealed all about his upcoming new album 'LP1', and his friendship with Stormzy.
Why has Liam Payne not released his debut album yet?
Speaking to Alex, Liam Payne revealed just why his debut album has taken so long to finish, after releasing his debut solo track 'Strip That Down' way back in 2017.
He said, "It's kind of taken a long time to make because I listened to the songs so much at some point, I didn't really know if they were good, bad or anything. I did Kanye before Kanye even did it."
When is Liam Payne's debut album coming out?
Liam, who recently went public with his new GF Maya Henry, also revealed what sound fans can expect from the album, which drops on 6th December.
He told Alex, "I played it to someone the other day and they said it was very American-sounding. I like that kind of LA scene kind of sound, it's more the music that I would actually listen to. So I'm quite happy that I made music that I love, if that makes sense.
"It's kind of based around albums I used to listen to, Usher's '8701', 'Justified' by Justin Timberlake, old school Chris Brown, so it's very raunchy. It's hella raunchy."
We can't wait! 🔥
After his backstage chat, Liam brought the house down at the KISS Haunted House Party, performing some of his biggest tracks to date, including his new single 'Stack It Up'.

Is Liam Payne friends with Stormzy?
During his chat with us, Liam also dished the dirt on his friendship with fellow KISS Haunted House Party performer, Stormzy.
He said, "I text Stormzy earlier, I'm desperate to get him out, because he never comes out. We've hung out at his place before, a couple of times, but I'm desperate to get him out on the scene."
That's a bromance we totally ship! ❤️
