Judge dismisses copyright claim against Taylor Swift using singer’s lyrics
A judge has dismissed claims Taylor Swift stole lyrics in her track 'Shake It Off' using lyrics from 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'
A judge has dismissed claims Taylor Swift stole lyrics in her track ‘Shake It Off’. Jesse Graham had claimed that Taylor took the chorus' lyrics ‘haters gonna hate’ and ‘players gonna play’ from a song named Haters Gone Hate, which he wrote in 2013.
However a judge in California has dismissed the case using lyrics from Taylor’s hit 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'…
‘At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court. But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them’ Judge Gail Standish wrote. The Judge dismissed the case of a lack of enough factual evidence.
The judge finished ‘At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit.’
