Ed Sheeran says that an old school friend who helped him write huge hit Thinking Out Loud now "never has to worry about money again."

Ed's old school friend Amy Wadge was in need of some cash last year and asked the singer if she could help with some songwriting to relieve her of her financial worries.

"She Amy asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff", Ed told The Mirror.

When Amy went to visit Ed at his house, the writing session resulted in them writing Thinking Out Loud together. Amy has now paid off her mortgage and no longer has financial issues. Ed said "she’s got a family and two kids and stuff, and every time I speak to her, she’s going on holiday. It’s really nice to see."

Amy has since been approached by other artists including Ben Haenow and Geri Halliwell for her writing talents.
