WATCH: Ed Sheeran's new single 'Happier' is here along with the unusual music video

Unstoppable Ed Sheeran has just dropped a new single along with his official music video. 'Happier' is from Ed's third studio album '÷' which was released last year and filled the top 20 with its songs.

Ed announced the release of his music video on social media. Taking to Instagram he posted a short video with the caption, 'Official video for my single Happier up on my YouTube channel, go check it out x'.

His post was immediately flooded with comments about his new song saying, 'This song has an amazing lyrics 💞' and 'Woooooow What a video😍😍😢😢😢💕'.

The video features a number of puppet characters, with Ed's character busking on the street. The song is said to be about the moment you realise that an ex-partner looks happier with someone else. In an interview earlier this year Ed revealed how it was inspired about someone he first dated at school.

The release of his new song comes in the same week that the music video for 'Perfect' celebrated 1 billion views on YouTube. The singer took to Instagram to celebrate this milestone saying, 'Perfect just hit 1 Billion views on YouTube. Yayayayay @zoeydeutch @jkoephoto'.

Not only has Ed reached this milestone he has also been nominated for two Ivor Novellos in the SAME category! The singer is nominated in the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category for 'Shape of You' and 'Castle On The Hill', along with 'Human' by Rag'n'Bone Man.
