Demi Lovato has been rushed to hospital after suffering what appears to be a heroin overdose, according to US news website TMZ.

It's reported that the 25 year-old singer was taken from her home in Hollywood Hills around noon today (Tuesday 24th July).

The singer has battled alcohol and drug abuse in the past but had remained sober since her stint in rehab back over 6 years ago.

Within minutes of the reports breaking, Demi's celeb friends and huge legion of fans began to send their messages of support on Twitter.
