It's been a busy year for Cheryl, she's had a baby boy, Bear, with her boyfriend Liam Payne, just six months later she was back at work and then she changed her name (again)! However now it seems there is even more exciting news as she appears to hint that she is working in the studio with her former bandmate Nicola Roberts.

Earlier this week a PR and consultancy company account tweeted 'Todays session has been the highlight of our year 😢 @NicolaRoberts @CherylOfficial saaaafe🤜🏾🤜🏾❤❤ quick maths 🤣🤣'. sic

Although we aren't too sure what the 'quick maths' reference is about, both Cheryl and Nicola replied. Taking to her official account Cheryl said, '😂🤣 thank you for a great session 🙌🏼 you guys are amazing .. quick maths'.

Nicola also responded with some emojis, '♥️😜😘'.

So, it certainly sounds like a collaboration could be on the cards, but what it has to do with 'maths' remains to be seen! Team Salut did reply to Cheryl's tweet saying,

'Lol yh man was fun. Still dont know how you did it, or maybe it was the coffee 🤣 @NicolaRoberts we gonna get your bongos for the next one😀'. sic

Neither Cheryl or Nicola have revealed any more information about these sessions, but it's clear that their fans are very excited at the prospect of new music with a number of users responding with gifs.

One user said, 'Don't leave us hanging Chez we've been waiting forevvvveerrrr for a sign of new music you can't tease us like this'. sic

Another just said, 'She’s such a little tease! I love it though 💞'.

As a group, Girls Aloud had massive success with hits such as 'Love Machine', 'The Promise' and 'Something New'. After a short break between 2010-2011 they went their separate ways in 2013. Cheryl has also a successful solo career with hits such as 'Fight for This Love' and 'Crazy Stupid Love', but it's been three years since Cheryl's single 'I Don't Care' hit the charts reaching number 1 in the UK.

Although this latest news is exciting for Cheryl and Nicola's fans, it is unlikely that we will see a full Girls Aloud reunion. Whilst Cheryl, Nicola and Kimberley are close, there are rumours of a feud between them and Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle.

However Cheryl did recently post a photo of herself with former bandmates Nicola and Kimberley saying, 'Sitting here drinking coffee with these two ☕️ and watching babies 15 years later !!! Crazy how time flies... 😱'. Her post also name checked Nadine and Sarah.
