Beyonce is reportedly being sued for $20 million by the estate of Messy Mya for an unauthorised sample in Bey’s hit ‘Formation’

‘Formation’ opens with the voice of the deceased YouTube star Messy Mya saying ‘What happened at the New Wil’ins? B*** I’m back by popular demand’ before Beyonce launches into her vocal.

According to TMZ, Mya’s sister, Angel Barre, is seeking $20 million ‘in back royalties and other damages’. Barre had apparently attempted to made contact with Beyonce about her use of the sample but never heard back. Leading them to file a lawsuit on Monday (6th February 2017).

Beyonce uses some language you wouldn’t say in front of your parents in the video.
