When Avicii passed away in April 2018, he was close to completing a new album. Since his death, his family, along with his collaborators have decided to continue working on his music. The DJ's family have now announced they will be releasing a song call 'SOS' next week, on 10th April, followed by an album, 'TIM', on 6th June.

This news comes as Avicii's family have released a video on YouTube, Avicii - The Story Behind The Album "Tim", in the video his Dad recounts Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, as a young boy working on music in the living room.

Klas Bergling says he didn't want the music to be "locked in", so the family and Avicii's collaborators decided to work together on how bring the music to the DJ's fans. The video also includes an interview with songwriter and producer Carl Falk, who worked with Avicii. He explains how drew inspiration from the songs the pair had previously done, which include several songs on his 'Stories' album from 2015.

Avicii was well-known in the music industry for his hits, 'Wake Me Up', 'Hey Brother' and his collaboration with Rita Ora, 'Lonely Together'. He passed away at the age of 28 on the 20th April in Oman.

Avicii's net proceeds from the album will go to the nonprofit Tim Bergling Foundation and the purposes it will work for, among other things, to prevent mental illness and suicide.
