The 10 Best GRAMMYs Moments

The nominations for 2016 GRAMMYs will be announced tonight! (7th December 2015). Here’s our favourite moments from The GRAMMYs ever….

1. Adele takes home six awards in 2012 – in classic Adele fashion

In 2012, Adele equalled Beyonce’s record from the previous year for most awards won in one night. She bagged Album of the Year; Best Pop Vocal Album; Record of the Year; Song of the Year; Best Music Video and Best Pop Solo Performances. Adele collected her trophies in classic Adele style shouting ‘Mum, girl did good!’ and ‘oooo I got a bit of snot’.

2. Jamie Foxx ogles Beyonce in front of Jay-Z

In 2014, Jamie Foxx presented the award for Best Rap Sung Collaboration and he just couldn’t keep his thoughts to himself commenting ‘Blue Ivy’s mum is Hot’ and ‘Sorry Jay I didn’t mean to stare.’ Lucky for Jamie, Jay-Z didn’t seem to mind too much, as when he won that award for ‘Holy Grail’ he gave Jamie a big hug…..

3. Beyonce and Jay-Z open The 2014 GRAMMYs with ‘Drunk in Love’

This was the performance that got Jamie Foxx ogling. Queen Bey opened the 2014 GRAMMYs with an amazing performance of ‘Drunk in Love’. She was joined half way through by her hubby Jay-Z and it was mega! SURFBOARD. SURFBOARD.

4. Kanye West’s 2006 acceptance speech for ‘Best Rap Album’

Back in 2006, Kanye West won the GRAMMY for ‘Best Rap Album’ for his album ‘Late Registration’. This was just the beginning of Kanye’s outrageous behaviour at awards ceremonies. On winning the award, Kanye took to the stage in shades and black gloves. Then stating ‘I had no idea. I had no no idea’, before pulling out a piece of paper with a huge ‘THANK YOU LIST’ written on the back. Sure no idea. Kanye….

5. J-Lo in that dress in 2000…..

Yeah that dress… it even has it’s own Wikipedia page.

6. Katy Perry performs in a banana

In 2009, Katy Perry performed ‘I Kissed A Girl’, making her entrance on sto stage via a gold banana…. As you do…

7. M.I.A might pop

A pregnant M.I.A performed at the 2009 GRAMMYs not letting the fact that the ceremony was on her due date get in the way of her busting some moves with Kanye West, Jay-Z, T.I and Lil Wayne.

8. Amy Winehouse wins 5 GRAMMYs live from London

In 2008, visa issues meant Amy couldn’t travel to the US for the GRAMMYs but that didn’t stop her dominating the ceremony. A live feed from London allowed the singer to perform two tracks and also collect her awards live on the night – her face when she wins Record of the Year is just the cutest….

9. Kanye West and Daft Punk perform ‘Stronger’ in 2008

After sampling Daft Punk’s Harder Better Faster Stronger for his track ‘Stronger’. Kanye West and Daft Punk took to the stage together at the 2008 GRAMMYs for an awesome performance…
