BBC bosses have delighted film fanatics across the UK this morning, as they've announced a brand new Wallace and Gromit movie called Vengeance Most Fowl will be released just in time for Christmas!

The new 70-minute movie will see Wallace and Gromit face off against their arch-nemesis Feathers McGraw, as the character returns to the franchise for the first time since Oscar-winning movie The Wrong Trousers.

Is there a trailer?

Releasing a 27-second trailer to announce the movie, bosses wrote: 'This is one bird who just can't be caged... Feathers McGraw is back! 🐧'.

In the trailer, Feathers McGraw leaves his prison cell and is reunited with his possessions, including THAT red rubber glove he used in the 1993 film to disguise himself as a chicken.

Creator of Wallace and Gromit and Director of Vengeance Most Fowl, Nick Park, said: “I’d had the idea of a film about garden gnomes turning bad for more than a decade, but I could never work out what made them bad. It occurred to me that the single most asked question I get when I meet fans is, will the penguin Feathers McGraw, Wallace and Gromit’s original antagonist from The Wrong Trousers 30 years ago, ever return?

"We’ve had fun bringing him back in cameo capacities but now, three decades on, it felt like the right time. Then it hit me: What if Feathers was involved with these gnomes? We’re hoping that this film will appeal to fans of “Gnome Noir” everywhere and that people will be gratified when they see what Feathers has been up to since The Wrong Trousers.”

When is it out?

Although there's no official release date just yet, bosses have confirmed the movie will land 'over Christmas' in 2024.

How can I watch it?

The new film will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer over Christmas for viewers in the UK, and on streaming platform Netflix across the rest of the world.

Charlotte Moore, Chief Content Officer at the BBC, said: “This new feature-length Wallace and Gromit film will captivate audiences of all ages this Christmas on the BBC, as the longed-for return of Feathers McGraw and some ingenious inventions including a “smart gnome” make for an unmissable adventure showcasing British creativity at its best.”

Who is in the cast?

Ben Whitehead, who has worked with Aardman for many years, stars as the eccentric, cheese-loving inventor from the North of England who lives with his best friend and loyal pooch, Gromit.

Comedian Peter Kay is also returning as Chief Inspector (formerly PC) Mackintosh.

Also joining the cast for the new 2024 movie is Lauren Patel and Reece Shearsmith, with cameos from Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh and Lenny Henry.

BBC bosses have advised that details of their roles will be revealed in due course.

How can I watch the old movies?

All of Wallace and Gromit’s previous adventures are available to watch on BBC iPlayer now.
