Academy Award winner and star of La La Land Emma Stone, was invited to a high school prom recently by a 17-year-old aspiring filmmaker.

Sadly for Jacob Staudenmaier he didn't get the answer he was hoping for, but despite approaching a world famous actress he did receive a personal response!

Taking inspiration from a former student at his school who 'promposed' to Miley Cryus, Jacob felt he had to follow it up after watching Emma in La La Land three times.

He took his idea for a 'promposal' to another level, recreating the opening scene from the multi-award winning film, with a parody of the featured hit, 'Another Day Of Sun'.

After the high school student's video went viral last week the public were itching to know what Emma thought of it and Jacob appeared on Good Morning America to let them know.

In the video, the teenager who looks uncanningly like Ryan Gosling, sings, "I know my voice ain’t great, but please be my prom date."

Unfortunately for Jacob, Emma turned down his offer as she is working in London, but he read out Emma's response which said,

"Jacob, thanks for making the greatest proposal I have ever received.

"I can’t tell you what an honour that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video."

Jacob's prom isn't until the 29th April, so luckily he still has time to ask someone else!
