Avatar: The Way of Water actors reveal what they got up to behind-the-scenes
Jamie Flatters and Trinity Bliss joined Perri on KISS
Avatar: The Way of Water is out now! The highly-anticipated sequel to James Cameron's Avatar is in cinemas, and our very own KISS Breakfast presenter Perri caught up with Jamie Flatters and Trinity Bliss to find out more about the movie, and what they got up to behind-the-scenes.
Perri admitted that he watched the original film every day for FIVE years! "It's a very long film, every night I'd skip parts..." he admitted. "It's got me thinking, I might potentially know the movie better than you guys!" So, keen to find out more about Avatar from Jamie and Trinity, Perri played a quiz with them.
Although Trinity is still very young, she said she's watched the original film loads of times and it's one of her favourite movies.
Jamie, who plays the role of Neteyam (Jake and Neytiri's oldest child), and Trinity, who plays Tuk (Neteyam's eight-year-old sister), opened up about what it was like to be part of a mega blockbuster like Avatar: The Way of Water.
Trinity, who was just a baby when the first film came out, has revealed that she went to set school in between scenes. The film started shooting way back in 2017, when Trinity was just eight-years-old, and she revealed there was no escape from studying even while filming.
"In between scenes we'll be doing our school at the side of the set, or sometimes up in the school room," she explained. "And that was also the time when us kids would hang out, before Jamie left us!
"And now, I'm alone! I'm the only one in set school now, aren't I?"
As much of Avatar: The Way of Water is filmed in water, Jamie later revealed they had a rule: "No school in the pool," admitting they would have to get out of the pool to study.
However, it wasn't all about studying behind-the-scenes. Speaking to Perri, Jamie also revealed how he was forced to do the Haka on a cliff in Hawaii with Cliff Curtis in his boxers. 😮
Jamie also opened up saying that he actually finds promoting the film more nerve-wracking than acting in the blockbuster! "This is the nerve-wracking bit," Jamie explained. "This right now, the whole Avatar part was fine, until we got to KISS FM!"
