The world reacts to Prince's death

Acclaimed musician Prince has died aged 57 at his home.

His body was found at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota, and news of his death has been confirmed by the singer’s publicist. The cause of death is at the moment unknown with an investigation by police underway.

He sold more than 100 million records during his career including hits ‘1999’ ‘When Doves Cry’, ‘Kiss’ and ‘Purple Rain’. He has inspired a generation of musicians. While Beyonce rocked the Super Bowl this year, his performance is widely acknowledged as one of the best.

Stars including Katy Perry, Nile Rodgers and Missy Elliott and many more have taken to social media to pay their respects.
