Last month pop star Ed Sheeran surprised fans by announcing his engagement to long-term girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, and now it seems he may have the wedding entertainment sorted - whether he likes it or not!

According to reports Everton footballer Wayne Rooney has said he will sing at Ed and Cherry's wedding, and the happy couple don't even have a say over it! A source told the Daily Star, “Wayne is totally tuneless and has a terrible voice. Ed thinks that is part of his charm when he launches into surprise karaoke sessions on nights out and jumps up at friends’ weddings to sing.

“Wayne told him he would be doing the same at Ed’s wedding, whether he likes it or not."

No stranger to wedding entertainment, last year Wayne was filmed singing UB40's hit 'Red Red Wine' at his former team mate, Chris Smalling's wedding.

However, despite this kind offer from Wayne, it is likely that Ed will be considering which of his pop star friends he can ask to perform on his special day.

With an A-List of friends like Sir Elton John, James Blunt, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Ellie Goulding and Taylor Swift, Ed has quite the choice to make.

In 2015 Ed surprised an Australian couple of their special day, while he was on tour in the country. He posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, 'Just surprised this lovely couples first dance. Available for weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvah's, contact your local super market for details'.

Ed took to Instagram last month to announce his engagement news to his 19 million followers. He said, 'Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx'. sic

Ed and Cherry have been together for around three years and many of Ed's songs appear to reference her and their relationship, including his current song 'Perfect' which you can hear on KISS.

It is also thought that Ed's song 'How Would You Feel (Paean)' appears to be a reference to his fiancée’s moniker. The lyrics are:

"I’ll be taking my time, spending my life

Falling deeper in love with you"

These song lyrics suggest he was thinking about the long-term early in their relationship.

Ed has yet to comment on any wedding plans, but we're sure we'll get to hear about it.

Congratulations Ed and Cherry!
