Tom Daley announces arrival of new baby and reveals unique name

A huge congratulations are in order for Olympian Tom Daley OBE and his husband Dustin Lance Black, as the couple have welcomed their second child into the world via a surrogate.

The couple, who got married in May 2017, chose to keep news of their baby a secret until the birth, which they have now announced in The Times newspaper that they've welcomed a baby boy.

The birth announcement read: 'Black-Daley on 28th March to Thomas Robert Daley and Dustin Lance Black, a son, Phoenix Rose.'

Tom has now posted the news to his Instagram page, sharing a cute photo from the moment his first born met his baby brother. He wrote: '🧡 PHOENIX ROSE BLACK-DALEY 🧡 Our family has grown in the last week, we welcomed Phoenix to the world on 28/03/23 and he’s just perfect 🧡 Robbie is loving being a BIG BRO! 👨‍👨‍👦‍👦'. (sic)

After getting married in May 2017 in Dartmoor, Tom and American screenwriter Dustin welcomed their first child into the world in June 2018, a baby boy via surrogate called Robert Ray.

28-year-old Tom announced the couple had chosen the name Robert Ray at the time, paying tribute to Tom's later father Robert, who sadly lost his life to a brain tumour in 2011.

Tom, who was awarded an OBE for his services to sports in 2022, recently appeared on Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer, where he spoke about the tragic loss of his beloved dad.

The Olympic diver appeared during Sunday night's (2nd April) episode, alongside Adele Roberts, David Morrissey and Lucy Beaumont.
