The Chainsmokers will be taking part in a one-off concert next month, where they will be performing hits from music icons such as Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and Beyoncé. Along with these tracks, The Chainsmokers will also be performing their own hits including 'Roses', 'Closer' and 'Don’t Let Me Down'.
Sounds amazing! 🙌
Speaking to the Associated Press Alex Pall said, “We’re kind of nervous. But lucky for us, they have endless amount of songs that are extremely popular that people love to hear. We just have to figure out how to mix everything in. I think it’ll be a cool experience for us."
Although it hasn't been confirmed exactly what hits they will be performing, it's likely that the DJ duo will perform Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' like they do every Halloween. Drew Taggart also said he'd like to see the crowd's response if they cover Beyonce’s 'Single Ladies' and 'Run the World (Girls)'.
Drew went on to say, “We’re doing something we really never had a chance to do, which makes performing and making music exciting.”
The Chainsmokers will be taking part in the Pepsi Generations Summer Music Campaign taking place in Los Angeles on the 24th July, which will be live streamed through Pepsi's Twitter page.
Pepsi officially announced the partnership with The Chainsmokers yesterday on Twitter saying, 'We’re beyond excited to announce our partnership with the @TheChainsmokers, see you in LA on July 24th 😎'.
The Pepsi campaign will see a number of music icons honoured with their photo on the side of Pepsi cans. Speaking about the event Emma Quigley, Head of Music at Pepsi said, "We're thrilled to be working with The Chainsmokers to bring to life this unique show for fans who will see them celebrate music across generations, with a little help from some special guests."
The Chainsmokers have had a very successful few years with hits such as 'Paris', 'Closer' and 'Something Just like This', a collaboration with Coldplay.
